Interact Support Inc is an Australian not-for-profit that runs two related mediation services. Both are delivered by accredited mediators, both are online and Australia-wide, and both are designed to be safer, faster and cheaper than going to court.

Interact Online – Family Dispute Resolution

For separating and separated families. If you are working out parenting arrangements or a property settlement after separation, our Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) service is for you. FDR is delivered under the Family Law Act 1975 by Accredited FDR Practitioners.

• Parenting FDR – making decisions about where children live, how time is shared, school, health, religion and big-picture parenting choices. Section 60i Certificates issued where appropriate.
• Property settlement FDR – working out how to divide property, super and finances after separation, with full and frank financial disclosure.

Fees: $242 per person per hour. Pre-mediation $363, joint mediation from $726 per person. Hardship discounts available.

Community Mediation (ICDRS)

For everyone else. The Interact Community Dispute Resolution Service (ICDRS) is a social-enterprise mediation service for neighbours, workplaces, clubs, committees, families in conflict and relationships people want to keep. Co-mediation by two AMDRAS-accredited mediators, online Australia-wide.

• Neighbour Mediation – pro-bono service for neighbour disputes (fences, noise, pets, parking, shared spaces).
• Relationship Mediation – for adult relationships people want to keep working – friends, siblings, business partners, extended family. Not the same as Family Dispute Resolution.
• Workshops – Conflict Management First Steps and Conflict Management First Aid – practical short courses for individuals, teams and association leaders.

Alongside mediation we offer self-paced courses to help separating parents and people in conflict:

• New Ways for Families (free) – a structured programme for separating parents, helping you communicate and make decisions together with less conflict.
• Other courses and coaching – including Anger Management and one-to-one coaching options.

Hardship and reduced fees

If paying the full fee would cause genuine financial hardship, please contact us before you book. We may be able to offer a reduced fee, point you to a free service, or accept a fee reduction request through our standard process.
